Hey Robot

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 6, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Hey Robot (also referred to as "Robot Joe"), an AI co-host service for live streamers, provided at heyrobot.gg and via the Robot Joe desktop application (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Hey Robot connects to your Twitch and/or YouTube account (and optionally Restream and Discord) to read chat, answer voice questions, generate stream topics, and perform moderation actions you request. Some features run in your browser; others run in an optional desktop application.

2. Accounts

You may sign up with a username and password, or by connecting your Twitch or YouTube account through OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys confidential, and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

3. Connecting third-party platforms

When you connect Twitch, YouTube, Restream, or Discord, you authorize Hey Robot to access the data and perform the actions covered by the permissions you grant during that platform's authorization flow (for example: reading chat messages, posting messages or moderation actions on your behalf, or reading basic channel/profile information). You can revoke this access at any time from the connected platform's own security/app-authorization settings, or by disconnecting the platform inside your Hey Robot account settings.

Your use of Twitch, YouTube, Restream, and Discord through the Service remains subject to each platform's own terms of service. In particular, your use of YouTube-related features is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of information from your YouTube account is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. See our YouTube API Services Policy for details on how we use YouTube data specifically.

4. Voice recognition and AI features

Speech recognition can run locally in your browser or, in the desktop app, on native models on your own hardware — audio is not sent to a cloud transcription service. Text you ask the assistant (or that the assistant generates in response, such as web-search-backed answers and stream topics) is processed by a third-party large-language-model provider to generate responses. Do not use voice commands or chat inputs to submit sensitive personal information you don't want processed this way.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that platform partners (Twitch, YouTube, Discord) require us to act on.

6. Your content and data

You retain ownership of your account data and content. We store the data described in our YouTube API Services Policy and process it as needed to provide the Service (for example, viewer profiles and chat history for the features you've enabled). You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at admin@heyrobot.gg.

7. Availability and changes

Hey Robot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. Features may change, and the Service may experience downtime, especially during active development. We'll try to communicate material changes affecting connected accounts where practical.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hey Robot and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including moderation actions taken on your behalf per your configuration, or content generated by third-party AI providers.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
